The Wisdom of Waiting!

Proverbs is a book of Wisdom. In the fourth chapter, verses 20-27 Solomon tells us:

²⁰ My son, pay attention to what I say;
listen closely to my words.

²¹ Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;

²² for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man's whole body.

²³ Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.

²⁴ Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

²⁵ Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.

²⁶ Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.

²⁷ Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil.

Wow! Pay attention, guard your heart. Put away perversion, keep going straight ahead, no detours! Now that is good advice. Sometimes the temptation is to run off, willy-nilly and just chuck everything!! Don't do it! Stick to the path. Stay focused and keep your steps right behind the Lord Jesus as you are following Him! Don't give up! Gal. 6:9 tells us- "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." You've done the plowing, you've done the planting, you've watered and cultivated well. Hang in there the Harvest is coming!
